Use fabric softener with peace of mind

Use fabric softener with peace of mind

There are many, one could almost say, horror stories about fabric softener. How bad it is, dangerous and unnecessary.

At Humdakin, we believe that as long as you do it in moderation and where it makes sense for you, you're doing nothing wrong.

The purpose of fabric softener is to make your clothes soft. For example, cotton textiles, such as bedding and sheets, have a softening layer on top of the fibers. At Humdakin, we recommend that our customers only use a very small amount of fabric softener when washing, for example, tea towels and towels, as the fabric softener and its softening layer on top of the fibers can reduce absorbency.

Fabric softener also has the amazing property of removing static electricity. This problem is especially prevalent with synthetic materials, where fabric softeners are a great help. Examples of the most common synthetic materials are: viscose, modal, polyester and lyocell/tencel.

Last but not least, fabric softeners give your laundry a great scent. Most fabric softeners contain perfume, which gives them a nice scent. However, it's also the fragrance that scares some people away from fabric softener or find a fragrance-free alternative.

Fortunately, with Humdakin fabric softener, you get mild scents of allergen-free perfume that absolutely minimize the risk of allergies, so you can continue to have great-smelling clothes without worrying about allergies.

Our three fabric softener variants all contain natural extracts and ingredients from the Nordic nature we are inspired by. The fabric softener protects the fibers in your clothes and helps keep your clothes soft and smooth after every wash.

All our liquid products are also made as concentrates, so a little goes a long way. In fact, we recommend using only one full screw cap of fabric softener per wash, which is equivalent to 1 tablespoon or 15ml. This means that with 1 liter of Humdakin fabric softener, you have enough product for between 60-65 washes.

Never use fabric softener for washing silk or wool. Also remember to consider the environment when dosing - excessive use does not soften clothes and harms the environment. Always read the instructions for use before use.

Humdakin's liquid products are free from parabens, dyes, essential oils, chemical perfumes, endocrine disruptors and carcinogens. Humdakin products contain allergen-friendly fragrances and only mild preservatives. Humdakin's liquid products are dermatologically tested.
