Keep clean and keep motivation for Christmas cleaning

Keep clean and keep motivation for Christmas cleaning

Christmas Eve is just around the corner, and perhaps you (again) have taken on the task this year to host Christmas Eve. It's a cozy responsibility, especially if you enjoy pampering your guests, but it also comes with a lot of Christmas hustle and bustle.

Christmas is busy, especially in the days leading up to Christmas Eve when the home needs to be prepared. There's cleaning to be done, shopping to do, food to prepare, and decorations to put up—all while wanting to enjoy the Christmas spirit with loved ones. But don't worry—at Humdakin, we can help you lighten the load.

At Humdakin, our mission has been, from the beginning, to teach you how to keep clean rather than just cleaning, and that philosophy benefits you during the holiday season!

Keeping clean saves you time.

Keeping clean simply means doing a little bit consistently. It might sound time-consuming, but we promise - it's not! The idea is to spend 10 minutes here and there throughout the week on your cleaning so that your home always feels nice and clean.

For example, spend 10 minutes wiping down cabinets and dining chairs while the cookies are in the oven. Or put toilet cleaner in the bowl in the morning before you leave, so you only need to scrub and flush when you get home. If you apply this mindset throughout your home in the coming days, you might only need to wipe down a little extra and focus on the Christmas joy, table setting, and cooking when the calendar shows December 23rd.

Find motivation by keeping things clean and using good products

Motivation for cleaning doesn't come on its own (rarely, if ever). That's why it's good to have tools that can motivate you to get started—and we promise that once you get started, it'll come naturally.

Here's what motivates us at Humdakin to start cleaning:

  • We can't overlook good and pleasantly scented products. A good universal cleaner with a delightful and clean scent makes cleaning a breeze.

  • Keep the home clean by doing small things every day. It makes getting started so much easier.

  • If that doesn't motivate you, at least think about how it will smell when you're done and the feeling of a clean home. Extend the feeling and scent with a mild and clean fragrance stick.

  • Put on your favorite podcast or blast your favorite playlist. Then you'll be done before you know it.

  • Make it easy with effective products. For example, use our spray bottle with universal cleaner and a good dish cloth to easily dust all surfaces.

  • Make a checklist and check things off as you go. That way, you avoid procrastination, and you can visually see that you're getting tasks done one by one.

  • Involve your kids and make it a group effort. That way, you can turn cleaning into quality time.
