International Women’s Day – a moment of pride

International Women’s Day – a moment of pride

March 8th is more than just a date on the calendar. It is a day to celebrate women’s strength, perseverance and ability to create change – both in history and in everyday life. As early as 1910, women from around the world gathered in Copenhagen to fight for rights and opportunities, driven by hope, courage and a vision of equality and suffrage. Their efforts laid the foundation for what we now know as International Women’s Day.

March 8th marks a global community far beyond Denmark’s borders and reminds us that women’s strength knows no boundaries. It’s a day to be united, acknowledge each other’s contributions and celebrate both what we have achieved and all that we continue to strive for. At the same time, it is a day for reflection, to look back on the steps already taken and to consider the challenges that still lie ahead.

Women inspiring each other

For Camilla Schram, founder and owner of Humdakin, the women around her have been a constant source of inspiration. From family members to mentors and close friends, their courage, wisdom and perseverance have shaped the path she has walked and everything she has created. Each of them has shown her what it means to stand firm, act with integrity and build something lasting, even in moments when the path was difficult and unpredictable.

The day becomes a moment to pause and recognize the women who have given us strength and who inspire us to keep moving forward, proud and aware of our own worth. It is a day where the inspiration from women of the past and present comes alive, reminding us of what we ourselves can achieve.

Everyday strength and pride

Women’s strength is not only found in grand, decisive moments but especially in the small actions that quietly shape our lives, our homes and our communities. It’s in everyday moments, where care and dedication unfold without fanfare, that women’s true power becomes visible. International Women’s Day reminds us to pause, notice these moments and feel the pride that comes from what each of us contributes.

Being a woman means creating, carrying and inspiring through small actions and gestures that together build something greater, often unnoticed if we do not allow ourselves to see them. When we take the time to reflect, it becomes clear that everyday life itself is proof of strength, agency and pride – every single day, in both the quiet and the grand moments.

A day of surprises

At Humdakin, we want to mark the day in a truly special way. That is why, on March 8th at 8 PM, something extraordinary will happen on our website – something we do not usually do. During the week, we will reveal more about what you can look forward to, but for now, it remains a secret. What we can say is that it will be an experience that celebrates the day and all the women who inspire us – and one you definitely will not want to miss!
