Home to Aarhus: our 10 places to visit in Aarhus.

At Humdakin, "home" is Aarhus. Spring is full of opportunities to visit your favorite cities - hopefully in sunshine!

City breaks can also be in smaller towns, which also have a lot to offer. Here are our absolute top 10 things to experience in Aarhus in the spring- and summer sun.

  1. The Latin Quarter in sunlight. Grab a cup of coffee at one of the good, local cafes and take a stroll around the cobblestone streets.
  2. A colorful trip in the rainbow. Stop by the ARoS art museum and enjoy how art can be for all ages. Finish off with a trip to the top in the Rainbow and see Aarhus in all its colors.
  3. Sand between your toes at Moesgaard. Stop by the museum when you're in the area. Moesgaard is perfect for a beach trip and a walk in the forest. Just around the corner is the Moesgaard Museum, where all ages can be entertained by past finds.
  4. Let the kids burn off steam at DOKK1. If you need to kick around a bit, Aarhus' library is the place to be. Take advantage of the outdoor playgrounds in good weather, or move into the children's department and the playroom if it rains. The café also serves an excellent coffee for potentially tired parents.
  5. Let time stand still in Den Gamle By. Explore a world where time stands still. A must is to enjoy some of the old-fashioned and traditional pastries the old city has to offer.
  6. The new district, Aarhus Ø. Take a walk in Aarhus' new district, where you can see modern architecture, enjoy great food, and a lovely view towards Mols.
  7. Speed, colors, and music in Tivoli. A place for children and adults filled with good spirits, colors, and amusements. If you happen to be there on a Friday, you're lucky to enjoy some good music at Fed Fredag.
  8. See Aarhus from the top of Salling and have a good lunch. Experience Aarhus from the top of Strøget at Salling Rooftop, if you're already on a shopping trip in Aarhus. Enjoy a cold drink or a good lunch on their nice terrace.
  9. Beach, beach, and more beach. Aarhus is perfectly situated by the bay and is surrounded by lovely beaches, so you get the best of both worlds: beach and city break. You can explore, among others, Den Permanente, Tangkrogen, Bellevue Beach, Skærring Beach, and Moesgaard Beach.
  10. Stroll down Jægergårdsgade. Aarhus is filled with cozy neighborhoods. If you haven't had enough of shops and cozy cafes and restaurants, Jægergårdsgade also offers nice local shops worth visiting.
