Cleaning for generations - indoor climate

Cleaning for generations - indoor climate

In the summer, most of us take it for granted that doors and windows are open much of the time. This is of course a result of the warmer temperatures and the sun coming into our homes much more than at other times of the year.

And it's really healthy for our indoor climate and our health if we're good at airing out. Because when we air out, the moisture that collects in pillows, duvets and mattresses evaporates. This prevents the accumulation of moisture and steam that causes condensation and is an ideal habitat for dust mites, mold and other types of fungi that can accumulate in our homes - especially in the bedroom.

These uninvited guests can cause illness, allergies and impair your sleep and overall mood. A good and healthy indoor climate is therefore essential to maintain and ensure it doesn't affect our everyday lives.

And it all starts with good ventilation during the day. And not just in the summer, but also in the winter. You've probably noticed that condensation in windows and doors, among other things, occurs more frequently during the winter months. This is because we naturally spend more time indoors and are less able to air out during the winter.

Therefore, make sure you air out at least 3 times a day. We recommend airing out after you have slept. This way your bed, duvet, pillow etc. can get rid of moisture after the night. Also, air out in the afternoon when you get home from work. You can certainly recognize the unpleasant heavy air (and sometimes smell) that can occur when the sun has been beating down on your windows all day.

Air out your home and replace the air and odors with fresh air. Meet and overcome the bad smell with our innovative 2 in 1 room spray that both removes and neutralizes the smell and replaces it with the mild and fresh scent of sage.

Another good idea is to air out the room while or after cooking. This way you avoid the smell of your dinner lingering in the air until late in the evening. Of course, you can also use our room spray to replace the smell of food.

Finally, it can be very beneficial to air out before you go to bed. Research shows that we sleep best in slightly cooler temperatures of around 16-17 degrees. But be careful not to sleep too cold. If the temperature difference between your bedroom and the surrounding rooms in your home is too great, this can also cause mold and moisture. A good rule of thumb is to keep the temperature around 18 degrees. The ideal temperature is to have a constant temperature throughout your house of around 20-22 degrees. If the temperature difference is more than 5 degrees, there is a risk of condensation. Therefore, create a draught before you go to sleep, e.g., while brushing your teeth. And close it again to avoid any problems with moisture and condensation.
